Always scan your files as you downloaded them and even put a password on your security program to stop it being uninstalled without your permission. Don't go on any weird websites, have a antivirus extension onto your browser, use a modern ish browser if possible such as MyPal. I personally don't do them as I've had a few issues with them before on my system. Update your system up to the April 2014 patches and if you wish, the POS Ready 2009 updates. First have some decent antivirus, I personally use a older version of Kaspersky Free Security from 2018. Basically it's completely your choice whether you want to run XP or not, online or offline.īut this is what I do personally. And they're right yes but, it's not the end of the world using a EOL OS if you want. Honestly most people will say don't connect it to the Internet or upgrade to a newer version of Windows or use Linux.
